Middlesbrough now have to wait until Friday 29th March before they are back in action again.

That game sees them travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton. With Michael Carrick‘s side currently 10th in the Championship table, seven points adrift of the top six, that match will be key for their play-off hopes.

Before that though, a number of ‘Boro players are set to be in action for their national teams over the coming fortnight.

With the March international break under, several individuals are set to represent their countries.

Striker Marcus Forss had been named in the Finland squad. However, he will not be involved, after limping out of Middlesbrough’s 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

It is a similar story with Rav van den Berg. The defender will not feature for the Netherlands Under 21s after missing the weekend game with a knock.

Even so, there are a number of players from the Riverside Stadium who will be in international action be over the break.

Here, taken a look at the international fixtures that Middlesbrough players will be involved in during the international break.

Seny Dieng Senegal schedule

Middlesbrough ‘keeper Seny Dieng missed Senegal’s AFCON campaign at the start of the year due to injury.

However, he has now been recalled to the squad for the two friendlies they play this month. They come against fellow African sides Gabon and Benin.

Paddy McNair Northern Ireland schedule

Paddy McNair has impressed for ‘Boro in recent weeks since stepping into a back three.

The 28-year-old will now hope to feature for Northern Ireland against Romania and Scotland over the international break.

This could be another chance for him to catch the eye with his Middlesbrough contract expiring this summer.

Right-back Anfernee Dijksteel has again been called up for Suriname over the international break.

They are set to face Caribbean Island nation Martinique in a friendly. However, Martinique are not officially a part of FIFA yet.

As a result, the Middlesbrough man will not add to his tally of official caps, even if he does play in this match.

Finn Azaz Ireland schedule

January signing Finn Azaz has been handed his first senior call-up for Ireland for the international break.

Carrick’s former Manchester United teammate John O’Shea is in interim charge, for friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland.

The Middlesbrough man will therefore be keen to earn his first caps for his country.

Sammy Silvera, Riley McGree, Tom Glover Australia schedules

Middlesbrough midfielders Sammy Silvera and Riley McGree have kept their places in the Australia squad.

They are also joined by Tom Glover. The goalkeeper has been recalled after missing out on a place in the squad for the Asian Cup at the start of the year.

The Socceroos will be looking to continue their perfect start to World Cup qualifying here.
