Middlesbrough defender Rav van den Berg is attracting interest and transfer expert Graeme Bailey has provided the latest.
Boro have endured a topsy-turvy Championship campaign but have now secured back-to-back wins following their victory at Queens Park Rangers.
Starring in that win was van den Berg, who won five of his eight duels, made three tackles and had an impressive pass completion rate of 86 per cent, as per Sofascore.
It’s not the first time the 19-year-old defender has impressed, in fact, since arriving from Dutch outfit PEC Zwolle in the summer, he’s been one of Michael Carrick‘s most consistent performers.
With that said, it’s no surprise his performances have drawn interest, with Bailey providing all the latest on his Riverside future.
Graeme Bailey provides update on future of Rav van den Berg
Ven den Berg continues to shine in an inconsistent Boro side which has alerted interest from potential suitors.
Speaking exclusively to boro.news, transfer insider Graeme Bailey said: “On van den Berg, he’s attracting interest. It’s not a huge shock, he’s playing well. I don’t think he’ll leave this summer unless it’s a silly offer, which I don’t see coming, particularly.
“He’s got his feet on the ground. There’s a reason he chose Middlesbrough ahead of a few other clubs in the first place. He wanted to play football. He’s still a teenager, so I think he’s a good year away from be ready for that [a move].”
Such news will come as a relief to Boro supporters, as it appears the Netherlands under-21 international will be remaining at Riverside this summer, though, Bailey didn’t rule out a move away beyond that point.
Rav van den Berg key to Middlesbrough’s play-off hopes

Despite his inexperience, van den Berg will be imperative to Boro’s play-off dreams heading into the business end of the season.
Carrick’s side currently lie eight points adrift of sixth-placed Norwich City, though, they do have a game in hand.
Whilst a top-six finish appears a slim hope, it certainly isn’t impossible, particularly if Boro continue their winning run.
Their teenage centre-back has formed a back three with Paddy McNair and Mathew Clarke in recent weeks, which seems to be keeping the opposition at bay.
So Carrick will be eager to maintain that partnership, as his side prepare to make the trip to the West Midlands to face Birmingham City on Tuesday before a clash against Blackburn Rovers on the weekend.
