Middlesbrough star Finn Azaz has revealed what he needs to improve on in a recent interview.
Azaz joined the Teeside outfit in January after Aston Villa sanctioned his sale for a fee reportedly worth £2.5m.
The 23-year-old spent the previous 18 months at Plymouth Argyle, where he made 67 appearances, netting an impressive 15 times whilst laying on as many assists.
Since arriving at Riverside Stadium, Azaz has registered four goal contributions across 15 outings and has played off the left at times, which is unfamiliar territory to him.
Finn Azaz reveals what ‘big thing’ he’s trying to improve on at Middlesbrough

Azaz, who laid on the assist for Emannuel Latte Lath’s second goal in the win against Swansea on the weekend, has revealed what ‘big thing’ he’s trying to work on, speaking in a recent interview.
“Wherever I’m playing, I’ll give my all and try and figure it out to have the best impact,” the playmaker said.
“I’m learning the style and keen to keep developing to ensure I can have an impact wherever I’m asked to play. There is more to come from me, for sure. I’ll probably always feel that there is because I’m a perfectionist so I’m always demanding more from myself.”
Azaz continued: “There is definitely more to come though. I’ve got a winning mentality and that remains whatever team I’m playing in.
“Obviously there are different demands and targets and different styles, but I’m trying to win games regardless. The big thing about the move has been learning a new role and a new style. That’s what I’m adapting to.”
Finn Azaz must rediscover his Plymouth numbers
By no means has Azaz been poor since arriving at Middlesbrough, but he himself admits that there’s much more to come.
During the first half of the season, the former Villa ace produced 12 goal contributions in 26 games, which is a much greater return than he’s managed at Boro.
So he must find a way to rediscover that level of attacking output between now and the end of the season.
Michael Carrick‘s side still have an outside chance of reaching the play-off but they must surmount a six-point gap on Norwich City, who reside in sixth.
With a clash away at Hull City tomorrow, Azaz has to take the onus to be the match-winner, that was his mentality at Plymouth.
If he can improve his numbers in the run-in, it’ll give Boro a much greater chance of a top-six finish.
