Players with most appearances for Middlesbrough
10 – Stephen Pears – 424 appearances

Stephen Pears joined Middlesbrough on loan from Manchester United in 1983 before making a permanent switch in 1985. He made 424 appearances for Boro before leaving for Liverpool in 1995.
Pears made 339 league appearances for Boro, 25 in the FA Cup, 32 in the League Cup and 28 in various other competitions.
9 – Tony Mowbray – 424 appearances

Tony Mowbray began his senior career with his hometown club in 1982, going on to score 32 goals in 424 outings before departing for Celtic in 1991.
Mowbray made 348 league appearances for the Teessiders as well as 23 in the FA Cup, 29 in the League Cup, and 24 in other competitions.
8 – David Armstrong – 431 appearances

Durham-born David Armstrong began his career with Middlesbrough in 1971 and notched 431 outings for the North East outfit before leaving in 1981 for Southampton.
Armstrong featured 359 times in the league for Boro, 29 times in the FA Cup, 28 in the League Cup and on 15 more occasions in other competitions.
7 – Mark Schwarzer – 446 appearances

Mark Schwarzer made 446 appearances for Boro during his legendary career, signing for Boro in 1997 from Bradford City before leaving to join Fulham in 2008.
Schwarzer made 367 league appearances for Boro as well as 32 in the FA Cup, 26 in the League Cup, and 21 in Europe.
6 – Jacky Carr – 449 appearances
Jacky Carr signed for Middlesbrough in 1910 from Southampton and spent 20 years at Boro before leaving for Blackpool in 1931.
Carr made 421 league appearances during his time at the club, as well as 28 in the FA Cup.
5 – George Camsell – 453 appearances
George Camsell joined Middlesbrough in 1925 from Durham City, going on to make 453 appearances for the North East outfit before retiring in 1939.
Camsell, who is Middlesbrough’s all-time top scorer, made 418 league appearances for the Reds and featured 35 times in the FA Cup.
4 – Jim Platt – 481 appearances

Jim Platt began his career with Middlesbrough in 1971 and made 481 appearances for Boro before leaving for Ballymena United in 1983.
Platt played 401 league games for Boro, 34 in the FA Cup, 38 in the League Cup and 13 in other competitions.
3 – John Craggs – 488 appearances

John Craggs joined Middlesbrough from Newcastle in 1971, going on to feature 488 times before returning to the Magpies in 1982.
Craggs featured 409 times in the league for Boro – also making 33 FA Cup, 31 League Cup, and 15 more appearances in other competitions.
2 – Gordon Jones – 527 appearances

Gordon Jones began his senior career with Middlesbrough in 1960, making 527 appearances before joining Darlington in 1972.
Jones made 457 league appearances for the Reds, as well as 40 in the FA Cup, 26 in the League Cup and four more in other competitions.
1 – Tim Williamson – 602 appearances
Tim Williamson is Middlesbrough’s all-time record appearance maker and is the only player on this list to have spent his entire career on Teesside.
Williamson’s record 602 outings were split across 563 games in the league and 39 in the FA Cup.
