Middlesbrough announce squad numbers ahead of 2023/24 campaign

With the 2023/24 Championship campaign starting on Friday, Middlesbrough have confirmed the numbers allocated to first-team squad members.

Four players that featured for the club last season have switched numbers for the upcoming campaign.

Tommy Smith has switched to number 2, previously worn by Isaiah Jones, who has taken the number 11 shirt.

Dan Barlaser has moved to the number 4 shirt, with youngster Hayden Hackney rewarded with number 7.

Boro’s goalkeeping department has been subject to an overhaul this window, with Seny Dieng taking the number 1 jersey from former loanee Zack Steffen.

Fellow new shot-stoppers Tom Glover and Jamie Jones have been given numbers 23 and 32 respectively.

Four other new signings have been allotted first-team numbers, with Rav van den Berg taking number 3, previously worn by Ryan Giles.

Morgan Rogers and Alex Gilbert have taken numbers 10 and 14, with Sammy Silvera wearing number 18.

Matthew Hoppe, Josh Coburn, Martin Payero and Hayden Coulson have all returned from loan spells away from the Riverside and have been given numbers 13, 19, 20 and 22 respectively.
