Middlesbrough have released a brand-new third shirt ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Whether it be the legendary 2004 League Cup-winning shirt or the popular 95/96 away kit, Middlesbrough have had some iconic shirts throughout its 148-year history.
This season’s away shirt has also been a huge hit with supporters, with the 98-99 inspired kit selling out in ultra-quick fashion.
Boro fans however have yet another kit to get excited about, following the fresh release of the club’s brand new third shirt.
Middlesbrough release brand-new shirt
Middlesbrough announced their brand-new shirt on social media with the tagline ‘Riverside to Poolside’.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), shirt supplier Errea revealed the shirt was inspired by ‘The confluence of the Tees River and the North Sea, this design is a tribute to Middlesbrough’s heritage.
With details reflecting the connection between the city and its surrounding waters, this kit celebrates the Boro’s legacy.’
The shirt will be available to fans on pre-order from 5pm on Tuesday, July 30, up until 5pm on Saturday, August 3, while stocks last.
In a statement posted on the club’s website, Middlesbrough urged supporters to pre-order to avoid disappointment, due to the expected popularity of the shirt.
Middlesbrough fans react to new third kit
Middlesbrough fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the club’s new shirt, with the Teesside-inspired design being hugely popular amongst supporters.
“I actually prefer this one to the away strip. Looks like a scene from space. Well, the Boro do play football out of this world and light years ahead of the other 23 clubs in the league,” one fan said.
Another fan said, “Ooooh that’s beautiful.”
“Perfect kit to announce a new signing in,” a third fan added.
Some Middlesbrough fans however were left worried that they miss the chance to buy the shirt, following the club’s recent stocking issues of the away kit.
“Beautiful. Please make enough this time,” one fan stated.
