Middlesbrough have been included in the highly-anticipated release of the EFL’s new Fantasy Football game
With the Euros coming to an end and the football season fast approaching, many fans will now undergo the gruelling task of putting together their Fantasy Premier League teams.
Whether it’s Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, or Mohamed Salah, many EFL fans have arguably felt left out, not seeing their clubs part of the popular game.
That however is all set to change this season, with the EFL set to introduce their very own fantasy football game – much to the joy of Football League supporters.
EFL Fantasy Football explained

The 2024/25 season will see the EFL launch its first-ever official Fantasy Football game.
The EFL’s fantasy football will look to replicate the outstanding success of the Premier League’s Fantasy Football game (FPL), which has amassed over ten million players since its inception – making it the largest fantasy football game of any domestic league.
The Football League’s version however differs slightly, for example only seven players can be selected in a team rather than the 15 seen in FPL.
Players also do not have a cost value which is again different from FPL, with users able to choose from players across the three leagues (Championship, League One and League Two). Users will also choose two clubs that they think will win that gameweek.
Gameweeks run from Thursday to Wednesday, and users can pick a new squad every week, with unlimited transfers. They also have the freedom to swap out any players up until the moment their match kicks off.
Captains and vice-captains are also chosen every gameweek with your chosen captain having the opportunity to earn double points, much like the model seen in FPL.
Middlesbrough Fantasy Football

As EFL fans compile their teams before the league’s curtain raiser on August 10th/11th, many fantasy players will be keeping a keen eye on a few Middlesbrough stars.
Ivorian striker Emmanuel Latte Lath will likely be a popular pick amongst players, with many fans hoping he can build upon his impressive 16-league goal tally last season.
Luke Ayling is also set to be a fan favourite, with his attacking attributes set to win a number of fantasy points this season.
Seny Dieng meanwhile could also be a smart pick for players, racking up ten clean sheets for the Boro during 23/24.
