A former Middlesbrough player who struggled at the Riverside is now wanted by three Premier League sides after a 22-goal season.
Middlesbrough have had their fair share of issues in the striker department over the years.
Chuba Akpom took the Riverside by storm in 2022/23, scoring 28 Championship goals and 29 in all competitions.
Prior to that, however, Boro did not have a single player score 20 goals in one season for 26 years.
Club legend Fabrizio Ravanelli found the net 31 times in the 1996/97 season as Middlesbrough reached two domestic cup finals.
One of the many centre-forwards who failed to shine on Teesside was Martin Braithwaite.
Braithwaite joined Middlesbrough in the summer of 2017 following their relegation from the Premier League.

Premier League trio want Middlesbrough flop Martin Braithwaite
Braithwaite scored just five goals in his first 19 Championship appearances for Boro before being loaned out in the second half of 2017/18.
He returned to Middlesbrough in 2018/19 but was again loaned out midway through the campaign after scoring three in 17.
The Danish forward was eventually sold to Spanish outfit CD Leganes in the summer of 2019.
He most recently plied his trade for RCD Espanyol, scoring 22 times in their 2023/24 promotion-winning campaign.
However, the 33-year-old is now a free agent after his contract expired last month and could be set for a return to England.
Danish outlet Tipsbladet reports that newly-promoted duo Leicester City and Southampton, as well as Everton, are all speaking to Braithwaite regarding a transfer.

Middlesbrough can learn from Braithwaite failure
After leaving Middlesbrough in 2019, Braithwaite has gone on to excel for various sides.
While the decision to sell the Dane did make sense at the time, Boro should now learn from that sale.
Josh Coburn is currently the club’s backup striker behind Emmanuel Latte Lath.
The 21-year-old showed flashes of quality in 2023/24 but ultimately scored just five league goals.
Rather than looking to sell him this summer, though, Michael Carrick should keep hold of him and try to unlock his full potential.
