Middlesbrough stars Ben Doak and Isaiah Jones were in international action on Thursday evening.
The September international break has come at the completely wrong time for Middlesbrough.
Michael Carrick watched his side pick up their first win in three this past weekend when they beat Cardiff City 2-0 in Wales.
The result moved the Teessiders up to seventh in the Championship table and no doubt gave the side a much-needed lift after some questionable results, including a 1-0 defeat to Derby County.
Boro were much more positive in Cardiff this past weekend, with their defense in particular looking much-improved.
Carrick will have been hoping to build on that result as soon as possible but the Reds are now out of action until September 14th thanks to the break.
In total, Middlesbrough have nine players on international duty this month, with loanee Sammy Silvera also away representing Australia.
Two of those stars, Ben Doak and Isaiah Jones, were in action for their countries on Thursday evening.

How Middlesbrough loanee Ben Doak fared on international debut for Scotland
Doak was called up to the Scotland squad over the summer but injury forced him to miss Euro 2024.
Now though, the teenager has been called back up for his country and made his senior debut on September 5th.
Scotland played host to Poland in a UEFA Nations League group game, with the Boro loanee starting on the bench.
He was introduced in the 71st minute, coming on in midfield for Kenny McLean as Scotland fell to a 3-2 defeat.
Doak played a total of 19 minutes for his country but had a fairly quiet debut on the whole.
He made five of his six attempted passes, had 11 touches, lost possession four times, lost both of his attempted ground duels and made one clearance, as per Sofascore.

How Middlesbrough winger Isaiah Jones fared on international debut for Guyana
As he was born in London, Jones was eligible to play for the England national team.
However, after failing to be picked by the age of 25, Jones has now declared his allegiance to Guyana.
The Middlesbrough winger was called up as soon as he announced the switch and made his debut on Thursday evening.
Jones clashed with Anfernee Dijksteel as Guyana took on Suriname in a CONCACAF Nations League tie.
The Boro forward started out of position on the left wing, meaning he was actually going head-to-head with right-back Dijksteel on Thursday.
Jones did win a penalty on his debut for Guyana but his solid performance was overshadowed by his team losing 3-1.
As for Dijksteel, he won six of his four ground duels, made one tackle and two interceptions, as per Sofascore.
The right-back will be the happier of the two Boro stars right now but Jones should still be pleased with his individual display.
