A Middlesbrough summer transfer target has sent a message to Riley McGree after the midfielder signed a new contract.
With the backing of owner Steve Gibson, Michael Carrick and Kieran Scott have been working hard ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign getting underway.
Middlesbrough have made three new additions to their first-team squad with the arrivals of Luke Ayling, Delano Burgzorg, and Aidan Morris.
Boro also fended off interest from two Premier League clubs to sign 16-year-old centre-back Harley Hunt, who is expected to link up with their academy.
It is not just transfers that Middlesbrough have been working hard on this summer, though.
Carrick signed a new three-year contract recently, keeping him at the Riverside Stadium until 2027.
On Wednesday evening, meanwhile, Middlesbrough confirmed that Riley McGree had penned fresh terms with the club.

Ryan Giles sends message to Riley McGree
McGree joined Middlesbrough in January 2022 from MLS side Charlotte FC.
The Australian enjoyed a prolific 2022/23 campaign with Boro but fell out of favour somewhat last season.
This led to speculation he could leave the club in the current window as he only had 12 months left on his contract.
One pundit expressed his view that he would be happy to see McGree leave Middlesbrough this summer.
However, Boro have confirmed that the 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal.
The Teessiders shared the news via their official Instagram page. On the post, Middlesbrough transfer target Ryan Giles sent a message to McGree.
Taking to the comment section Giles, who played alongside McGree in 2022/23, wrote: ‘congratulations brother x’.

Michael Carrick can rekindle Middlesbrough partnership in 2024/25
McGree is a natural central midfielder but spent much of 2022/23 operating on the left wing.
This, of course, meant he formed a great partnership with Giles down the left-hand side.
Giles provided 11 assists during his season-long loan at Middlesbrough and with McGree set to stay for the coming campaign, Carrick should look to reignite the relationship that helped Boro finish fourth in the league.
The left wing is a problem area for Boro at present following the departures of Sammy Silvera and Sam Greenwood but McGree could help fill that void in 2024/25.
