A talkSPORT pundit has provided his prediction for Middlesbrough ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Middlesbrough are gearing up for the 2024/25 Championship season, which begins for them on August 10th.
Boro will host Luke Williams’ Swansea City at the Riverside Stadium in a 12:30pm kick-off.
Ahead of the new season, the Teessiders have been aiming to strengthen their first-team squad in order to make a proper promotion push.
Middlesbrough have signed Luke Ayling, Delano Burgzorg, and Aidan Morris as they aim to improve on last campaign’s eighth-place finish.
The North East outfit were hampered by injury issues and the loss of several key players in 2023/24 but look set to avoid those problems in the coming campaign.

TalkSPORT pundit makes Middlesbrough promotion prediction
Early this summer, Head of Football Kieran Scott assessed Middlesbrough’s promotion chances.
The club chief seemed quietly confident that Boro will be in the promotion mix come the end of 2024/25.
Now, talkSPORT pundit Phil Spencer has taken to X/Twitter to share his Middlesbrough promotion prediction.
He said: “I think top 6 has to be the target. If we can get another semi-prolific striker in I think we could finish as high as 3rd.
“Championship promotion race will be very open this year and therefore there are very few teams I’d be scared of.”
Middlesbrough open talks for striker
Spencer mentioned that he backs Middlesbrough to finish as high as third if they can sign another half-decent striker.
And he may get his wish in the coming weeks following a fresh Boro transfer update.
This comes after Middlesbrough opened talks with Bristol City over a move for Tommy Conway.
Conway scored 10 in 39 Championship matches for the Robins in 2023/24 but his future at the club is now in doubt.
The centre-forward is in the final year of his contract and after turning down a new deal this summer, is currently training with Bristol City’s U21 side.
