Aidan Morris and Ben Doak have taken the headlines but another Middlesbrough summer signing has been excellent.
Kieran Scott and Michael Carrick completed some excellent summer transfer business for Boro during the 2024 summer transfer window.
A total of nine new faces arrived at the Riverside Stadium and several of them have already shone in the early stages of 2024/25.
Tommy Conway was Middlesbrough’s most expensive signing of the window, setting the club back £4.5m following a move from Bristol City.
Conway was dubbed ‘dangerous’ after scoring on his first league start for the Reds against Preston North End earlier this month.
Elsewhere, after his loan move from Liverpool, Ben Doak has impressed in both his starts so far, including when Middlesbrough beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 on Tuesday evening.
Aidan Morris was labelled an ‘incredible find’ for Middlesbrough in August month as well but another Boro star may now hold that title.

Ben Doak and Aidan Morris were not Middlesbrough best summer signings
Doak and Morris have, at least in most fan’s eyes and to the media, been the best signings of the summer for Middlesbrough so far.
Morris has settled into life in the Championship with ease, dominating in midfield in nearly every game he has started and linking play very well.
Doak, meanwhile, though he has played less, has looked a level above every other Boro winger in 2024/25 so far.
However, it is arguably George Edmundson, who is currently on £9k-a-week, who has been the Teessiders’ best summer addition.
The stopper was a late addition, not arriving until deadline day, but has been crucial to Boro’s return to form in the last week or so.

George Edmundson will be key to Middlesbrough promotion push
One of Middlesbrough’s main problems this season has been the centre-back position.
Dael Fry and Darragh Lenihan are still sidelined following fresh knocks picked up in pre-season after missing the back end 2023/24 with different injuries.
Rav van den Berg only returned to the starting line-up against West Brom, while Matt Clarke is the latest defender to be forced out with an injury.
Edmunson though, has stepped up massively over the last few weeks despite only being brought in initially as a rotation option.
He has shored up Boro’s shaky backline and helped them keep two clean sheets in a row. Edmundson dominates the aerial battle in every game and has just looked very solid.
Edmundson was previously dubbed ‘faultless’ by Steven Gerrard when he was at Rangers and it is easy to see why he garnered such high praise.
