One Middlesbrough player has opened the door to leaving the club at some point in the future.
There could be a couple more outgoings at the Riverside Stadium in the final few days of the transfer window.
The likes of Zach Hemming, Sammy Silvera, Hayden Coulson and Paddy McNair have already departed this summer on temporary or permanent deals.
Elsewhere, after the signing of Tommy Conway, Josh Coburn has become surplus to requirements on Teesside, now acting as the third-choice centre-forward for Carrick.
Millwall are interested in Coburn and a transfer may still take place before the 11pm deadline on Friday.
There was also talk that Alex Gilbert would be loaned out this month but Carrick has confirmed Gilbert will stay at Middlesbrough for the 2024/25 season.
Another Boro star expected to remain on Teesside for at least the first half of this season is Anfernee Dijksteel.
Dijksteel was made available for sale earlier this summer after falling down the right-back pecking order since Michael Carrick arrived at the club.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke reported recently that Boro have rejected approaches from several Championship clubs and sides from abroad for the 27-year-old.

Anfernee Dijksteel refuses to rule out Middlesbrough exit
Boro News understands that Middlesbrough are not in a position to let Dijksteel leave this month amid their ongoing injury crisis.
Three senior central defenders are out injured and right-back Tommy Smith is yet to recover from an issue picked up in the previous campaign.
But while Dijksteel is going nowhere in August, the player has now suggested he would be open to leaving Middlesbrough for the Netherlands in the future, as per Sportnieuws.nl.
He said: “I don’t rule out a future in the Netherlands, but my ambition now lies with Middlesbrough. We want to be promoted to the Premier League.”

Should Middlesbrough let Anfernee Dijksteel leave
Dijksteel has been an important player for Middlesbrough so far this season due to their injury issues.
The full-back started and scored his first-ever goal for the club in their 3-0 win over Leeds United in the League Cup.
And with Luke Ayling having to fill in at centre-back recently, Dijksteel has become a regular starter on the right of Boro’s back-four recently.
However, prior to this, the former Charlton Athletic man was not really used too often by Carrick.
Once Smith is back from injury it is expected Dijksteel’s minutes will be reduced and at that point, Middlesbrough will probably be willing to let him leave.
