Middlesbrough are expected to make further additions to their squad before the transfer window shuts.
Boro have had an active summer transfer window so far with six players already through the door at the Riverside Stadium.
However, though Middlesbrough have done some excellent business so far this window, a couple more names could still arrive at the club.
Michael Carrick wants another left-back brought in and Middlesbrough have been linked with Neto Borges in the last few days.
Elsewhere, the Teessiders have suffered an early-season injury crisis with 10 players missing out against Portsmouth last week.
Middlesbrough face Stoke City in the League Cup on Tuesday and Carrick will be forced to pick a makeshift team and select some academy players as a result of his depleted squad.
In turn, though a left-back remains the priority right now, Boro should look to add at least one more player to their squad before the window shuts.

Middlesbrough must rival Burnley for Hannibal Mejbri
One transfer Middlesbrough should look to complete is the signing of Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United.
Boro’s Championship rival Burnley are looking to get a deal for the midfielder wrapped up this week but Carrick has previously worked with the player and still has connections at Old Trafford, which could give Middlesbrough the edge in a transfer race.
In turn, he should convince Steve Gibson to make a late move for the player before deadline day on August 30th.
Hannibal joined Man Utd from AS Monaco’s academy in 2019 and has since made 13 appearances for the club.
He enjoyed an excellent spell in the Championship with Birmingham City, where then-manager John Eustace dubbed him ‘phenomenal’, as per the Mirror.
The 21-year-old then spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Sevilla but is now set to move again and he would be a huge upgrade for Boro.

Why Michael Carrick should sign Hannibal Mejbri for Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough began the season well-stocked in the midfield department.
However, Jonny Howson and Law McCabe are now out injured, leaving Aidan Morris, Hayden Hackney and Dan Barlaser to cover two positions.
Hakcney and Morris have performed well so far but they cannot play every game of the season.
Barlaser, meanwhile, is a decent option to have from the bench but Hannibal would be a big upgrade.
His addition would also allow Howson to drop in at centre-back when required, as he did against Leeds United in the League Cup earlier this month.
