Middlesbrough have let several players leave the Riverside Stadium during the 2024 summer transfer window.
While the six new signings at Middlesbrough have been the main talking point amongst fans, Michael Carrick has let go of several players as well.
Paddy McNair and Liam Roberts both left the club in May when their contracts expired, with Jamie Jones joining them as a free-agent exit last month.
On a permanent basis, Middlesbrough saw Hayden Coulson sign for Blackpool after he shone on loan in League One last term.
Elsewhere, Boro opted not to take up loan options for Sam Greenwood and Lewis O’Brien, both of which have now found new clubs.
Finally, Carrick has allowed both Sammy Silvera and Zach Hemming to be spent out on loan in the current window, with the former joining Portsmouth and Hemming moving to Leyton Orient.

Middlesbrough loan Zach Hemming slammed by manager
Silvera has had a decent start to life at his new club, though he was unable to feature when Middlesbrough drew 2-2 with Portsmouth on Saturday.
As for Hemming, he enjoyed a superb spell with St Miren in 2023/24 and was expected to play a key role at the Riverside this term.
However, in what was a rather surprising call, Carrick decided to loan out Hemming and make Sol Brynn his number two.
Brynn was at Leyton Orient in 2023/24 and though he performed well, it seemed clear Hemming had the better season, making Carrick’s decision to loan the latter out somewhat questionable.
However, the Middlesbrough manager’s call has now been justified after Leyton Orient manager Richie Wellens hit out at Hemming for his mistake in their 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City over the weekend, as per Teesside Live.
He said: “There is no hiding from it, our goalkeeper [Zach Hemming] has cost us points.
“We could easily be sitting here with six or seven points, so he needs to look at himself in the mirror and get better but I thought our response was fantastic.
“I thought we were the better team. They have quality, obviously, but for me, we were far better and the second goal was a bit of a killer for us.”

Middlesbrough goalkeeper situation needs addressing
With just a few days of the summer transfer window to go, Middlesbrough must address their goalkeeper department.
Number one Seny Dieng made a huge error vs Portsmouth over the weekend but is still expected to keep his place between the sticks.
Behind him, Brynn appears to be the backup option after he started when Middlesbrough beat Leeds United 3-0 in the League Cup.
In turn, Tom Glover could leave Middlesbrough before deadline day as he will likely want more first-team football after being demoted from second to third-choice in 2024/25.
