Boro News understands Middlesbrough will explore the foreign transfer market to help strengthen a key position in the 2024 summer window.
Middlesbrough kicked off the latest transfer window in hectic fashion, signing three first-team players before pre-season had even begun.
Luke Ayling was brought back to the Riverside on a free transfer after a successful loan spell from Leeds United in 2023/24.
Ayling’s signing was quickly followed by the addition of Delano Burgzorg from Mainz 05.
Middlesbrough then spent £3.16m to bring midfielder Aidan Morris to England from MLS outfit, Columbus Crew.
Following Morris’ signing, Middlesbrough’s transfer activity has slowed down but Boro News understands further reinforcements are likely to be made before deadline day next month.

Middlesbrough expected to sign another left-winger
The departures of Sam Greenwood and Sammy Silvera over the summer have weakened the left side of Michael Carrick’s attack.
New signing Burgzorg is likely to be given minutes out wide, while Riley McGree, who penned a new deal this week, has enjoyed success on the flank previously.
However, Boro News have spoken to transfer expert Graeme Bailey regarding further incomings at Middlesbrough this summer.
And Bailey informed Boro News he expects Middlesbrough to sign another left-winger in the current window.
He added that the North East outfit will explore the foreign market to strengthen on the wing and in the striker position.
However, further signings may come later in the window as Middlesbrough are currently waiting to see who is available.

Who will Middlesbrough start on the left wing versus Swansea City
Middlesbrough begin their 2024/25 Championship campaign on Saturday, August 10th, versus Swansea City.
Swansea are shaping up to prove a much sterner test than they previously did when the two sides last met on April 6th, 2024.
Ahead of the game, Carrick has a big decision to make regarding who joins Emmanuel Latte Lath and Isaiah Jones in completing Boro’s attack.
Alex Gilbert is currently some way off the level required to start in the Championship on a regular basis.
McGree could be the safest option as he has played for Boro on the left before, while Burgzorg is the best natural left winger at the club right now.
A new summer addition could also take up the role, but with Boro still waiting to see who is available before making another move, it is unlikely any new player will be signed in time to start against the Swans.
