The Sky Sports pundit has predicted how Middlesbrough will fare against Bristol City this weekend.
Boro head into the game well aware of their recent poor record against Bristol City both home and away.
In their last seven Championship meetings, the Teessiders have picked up just one win, with the Robins doing the double over Michael Carrick and co. in their two meetings during the 2023/24 season.
The Middlesbrough manager spoke to the media ahead of the game on Thursday and had a lot to say.
In a big boost for the North East outfit, Carrick provided a positive injury update on Tommy Conway, who was in solid form before he picked up an injury that kept him out of the Watford defeat and Scotland’s recent international games.
Elsewhere in his pre-match press conference, Carrick gave a positive verdict on one Middlesbrough summer signing despite him struggling somewhat since his switch to the Riverside Stadium.

David Prutton shares score prediction for Middlesbrough vs Bristol City
Earlier this week, EFL pundit Sam Parkin predicted the score for Middlesbrough vs Bristol City.
It was an interesting prediction from Parkin who backed the Teessiders to come away with a 3-1 win.
This comes despite the fact Middlesbrough are yet to score more than twice in the Championship this term and, as already mentioned, have a poor record against Bristol.
Now, speaking on the Essential EFL podcast, David Prutton has given his score prediction for the game and it is probably somewhat more realistic.
In his brief assessment of the game, he said: “Battling point for both, 1-1.”

What Middlesbrough must do to beat Bristol City
Middlesbrough go into the game ninth in the Championship table while Bristol City are sat in 16th place.
However, there are only three points separating the two sides at present and though the Robins have picked up just two wins from nine, they are proving a tough team to beat.
Bristol have drawn five of their first nine league fixtures this term and have scored as many goals as Boro (10).
As a result, it is imperative the Teessiders do not fall behind at any stage on Saturday as they are unlikely to come back.
This means Carrick really should be starting Riley McGree on the left wing as Middlesbrough have kept three clean sheets in the three games the Australian has started this season, compared to just one when he has not been in the starting line-up.
