Rav van den Berg has been a revelation since joining Middlesbrough but his excellent form is attracting plenty of transfer interest.

Rav van den Berg has arguably been one of the best signings of the Michael Carrick era at Middlesbrough.

The centre-back won Middlesbrough Player of the Year in his debut campaign at the club despite playing out of position at full-back for large periods.

His superb start saw one pundit back Van den Berg to play Champions League football at one point in his career.

And unsurprisingly, the 20-year-old has already received a plethora of transfer interest during his short time in England.

Early in the 2024 summer window, Belgian outfit R.S.C. Anderlecht wanted to sign Van den Berg but deemed him too expensive.

Premier League outfit Fulham were then linked with the Middlesbrough defender in August but the North East outfit turned a move down.

Bundesliga clubs want Middlesbrough ace Rav van den Berg

Despite the summer transfer window closing, the stopper continues to be linked with a host of clubs.

Boro News understands tentative enquires were made by Manchester City, while Crystal Palace are the latest top-flight club to be credited with an interest in the Dutchman.

We can also reveal that a host of Bundesliga clubs are looking at the Boro centre-back and like him a lot.

However, Middlesbrough will not sanction a sale in the January transfer window, keeping Van den Berg on Teesside until at least the summer.

But if Boro do not get promoted in 2024/25, Van den Berg, along with Hayden Hackney, will leave the club.

Middlesbrough must get promoted in 2024/25 to keep Hayden Hackney and Rav van den Berg

Like Van den Berg, the England U21 midfielder has been the subject of plenty of transfer interest of late.

Aston Villa were linked with a move for Hackney after a starring display from him against West Bromwich Albion earlier this season.

Tottenham and Nottingham Forest both scouted the Middlesbrough midfielder during the 2024 summer transfer window as well.

As a result, he is expected to have no shortage of suitors if Boro fail to secure promotion in 2024/25.

Carrick’s side currently sit seventh in the Championship table going into their meeting with Oxford United on Saturday.

A top-two finish is already looking pretty unlikely, with seven points now separating Middlesbrough and second-place Sheffield United, making promotion via the play-offs the most likely option.
