Middlesbrough have made a transfer decision on two senior players ahead of the 2024/25 campaign getting underway.
Head of Football Kieran Scott has been working hard behind the scenes this summer to ensure Michael Carrick has the best possible squad available to him in the coming campaign.
Middlesbrough have signed three first-team players so far this summer, with 16-year-old Harley Hunt also joining the club’s academy ranks.
While new additions should boost Middlesbrough’s 2024/25 promotion chances, a number of players are expected to depart the Riverside Stadium before deadline day on August 30th.
Paddy McNair and Liam Roberts left Boro when their contracts expired at the end of 2023/24.
Hayden Coulson has joined League One side Blackpool in a permanent deal, while Sammy Silvera will spend 2024/25 on loan at Portsmouth.
One key area yet to be addressed in the summer window is Middlesbrough’s goalkeeper department.

Middlesbrough not accepting loan bids for Zach Hemming and Sol Brynn
Seny Dieng spent 2023/24 as Middlesbrough’s number-one goalkeeper, with Tom Glover his backup and Jamie Jones third choice.
Jones’ contract expired last month but he is expected to pen fresh terms and stay on in his third-choice role.
Zach Hemming and Sol Brynn have since returned to the club after successful loan spells with St Miren and Leyton Orient, leaving Carrick with five senior options to pick from.
In turn, it is likely at least one of the aforementioned five players will be moved on this summer.
Boro News spoke to transfer expert Graeme Bailey about Middlesbrough’s goalkeeper situation recently.
And Bailey confirmed that Boro are not currently accepting loan bids for either Hemming or Brynn.
He added that he expects Glover to leave the club in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Who will be the Middlesbrough goalkeepers in 2024/25
After a solid 2023/24, Dieng will likely stay in his role as Carrick’s first choice in the upcoming season.
Jones signing a new deal also means the third-choice role is sorted for at least one more year.
At present though, Glover, Hemming, and Brynn are all competing for one place.
With Glover, who signed on a free in 2023, expected to leave, the final spot will be filled by Hemming or Brynn.
The fact Boro are not accepting loan bids for either player suggests the club will look to sell one of the duo this summer and keep the remaining player to compete with Dieng for a starting berth.
Hemming shone on loan with St Miren last term and would likely be the better option to maintain.
