Several Middlesbrough players received interest from the Premier League during the 2024 summer transfer window.

Following the appointment of Kieran Scott as Head of Football, Boro’s recruitment has taken a massive upturn.

A number of top stars have arrived at the Riverside Stadium in the last few years, several of which have received Premier League interest.

After just six months at Middlesbrough, Morgan Rogers was sold to Aston Villa for an initial £11m potentially rising to £16m if several add-ons are met.

Aside from Rogers, three current first-team Boro men were the subject of transfer interest in the most recent window.

Boro News reported that Ipswich Town failed in a bid to sign Emmanuel Latte Lath on deadline day.

Rav van den Berg was of interest to Fulham as well, while Boro News learned that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United scouted Hayden Hackney over the last few months.

New Middlesbrough star could be poached by Premier League club

Boro did well to keep hold of that trio until at least January but another player could now have done enough to earn interest from the top flight in the upcoming winter or summer transfer windows.

The man in question is former Columbus Crew and current United States international, Aidan Morris, who is currently earning £12,000-a-week with Middlesbrough.

Morris made the switch to Teesside over the summer and was thrown straight into the starting line-up due to Jonny Howson’s injury problems.

Despite never playing outside of America before, the 22-year-old has taken to the Championship like a duck to water.

Morris was named Middlesbrough’s signing of the summer recently and it is easy to see why.

Michael Carrick’s men on the whole have had a rocky start to 2024/25 but the midfielder has been an absolute revelation in the centre of the park.

Morris became an instant fan favourite at Middlesbrough thanks to his tireless work-rate and impressive passing ability.

While this is good news for Boro right now, if he keeps up his current form across 2024/25, it is likely Premier League clubs will start to show interest in him.

The Florida-born star has outperformed his midfield partner Hackney and looked better than Latte Lath.

So, if both of those players are capable of garnering Premier League interest, it seems obvious that Morris will sooner rather than later.

What other Middlesbrough stars could attract Premier League interest along with Aidan Morris

Aside from Morris and the aforementioned trio who have already been linked to the Premier League, there are a few more names who could make a move to the top tier in the future.

Academy graduate Law McCabe has excelled in his limited outings so far and a PL move should not be ruled out in the coming years.

Micah Hamilton, previously of Manchester City, could return to the Premier League if he starts to shine when he finally gets up to speed in the North East.

And though not that likely, if Tommy Conway can repeat the success of Chuba Akpom from 2022/23 now he has taken up his role, a top-flight club could come calling for him.
