More exits are expected to happen at Middlesbrough before the close of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Michael Carrick has been working hard behind the scenes to trim his Middlesbrough first-team squad over the summer.
Paddy McNair and Liam Roberts both left at the end of the 2023/24 season when their contracts expired.
Hayden Coulson was then sold to Blackpool on a permanent basis – a decision Boro may end up regretting now Alex Bangura is injured yet again.
Elsewhere, Jamies Jones opted to join Salford City instead of penning fresh terms on Teesside, while Zach Hemming and Sammy Silvera have gone out on loan for the 2024/25 season.
With just over a week of the transfer window left, further exits are expected at the Riverside.
Josh Coburn has been linked to Millwall after his Boro future was called into question after the arrival of Tommy Conway.
Middlesbrough are willing to loan Alex Gilbert out this summer as well to hand him some much-needed senior experience.

Two more names could leave Middlesbrough alongside Josh Coburn and Alex Gilbert
It is not just the aforementioned attacking duo who could be on their way out of the club this month, however.
Dan Barlaser was linked with a Middlesbrough exit back in June amid interest from Turkey.
The midfielder has since stayed put and been involved in the club’s opening three fixtures of the campaign.
However, Boro News have spoken exclusively to transfer expert Graeme Bailey about further potential exits at Middlesbrough this summer.
And Bailey revealed that Barlaser and Tom Glover could possibly leave the North East ahead of deadline day.
He said: “Possibly [Tom] Glover, I think a goalkeeper might move. Barlaser had interest from Turkey, it’s a possibility [that he could move].”

Should Middlesbrough sell Dan Barlaser and Tom Glover
Glover was Boro’s second-choice goalkeeper behind Seny Dieng in the previous campaign and performed well when called upon.
However, after Sol Brynn started Middlesbrough’s League Cup win over Leeds United, it seems clear the Australian is now third-choice.
Glover is an established international and will likely want to move on in order to keep his place with his country.
Given that third-choice goalkeepers very rarely play a competitive game, it makes sense for Boro to cash in on Glover.
Barlaser, on the other hand, will need to be kept at the Riverside unless and adequate replacement can be brought in.
Jonny Howson and Law McCabe have both suffered injuries this season already, leaving Barlaser to step up as the third-choice central midfielder.
Tottenham Hotspur have scouted Hayden Hackney as well, meaning Boro’s midfield ranks could be further depleted before the window slams shut.
