Middlesbrough may not be done in the summer transfer market just yet.
After missing out on the playoffs by just four points in the previous campaign, Michael Carrick has been working hard to strengthen his squad for the 2024/25 Championship season.
Middlesbrough have made five first-team signings so far in the current transfer window.
Several of the Teessiders’ new additions have made their debuts in the last week, including Delano Burgzorg, who scored as Middlesbrough beat Leeds United 3-0 in the League Cup first round.
The club’s latest addition arrived on August 16th, with Tommy Conway joining Middlesbrough from Bristol City for £4.5m.
But with a few weeks left of the summer transfer window, the North East outfit are still looking likely to plug a few more gaps in their side.
Here we take a look at what might be next for Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Conway…

What signings will Middlesbrough make before August 30th
Middlesbrough are now fairly well-stocked in most areas of the pitch with Conway and Hamilton joining in the last week.
However, one key position will still need to be addressed before the close of the transfer window on August 30th.
Alex Bangura was sidelined for most of the 2023/24 season and after picking up another injury in pre-season, is once again a long-term absentee.
Ryan Giles has been linked heavily with Middlesbrough this summer but the club’s chances of re-signing him are seemingly slim.
This comes after journalist Scott Wilson has all but confirmed Boro will not sign Giles this summer.
Wilson does, however, expect Middlesbrough to try to sign another left-back before the deadline.
Outside of a left-back, Carrick may look to strengthen in the centre of his defence now all of Daely Fry, Daragah Leninhan, and make-shift centre-back Jonny Howson are injured.

Which players will leave Middlesbrough before August 30th
Much like with their incomings, the Teessiders were able to move on the majority of their unwanted stars before the season started.
Zach Hemming and Sammy Silvera have gone out on loan, Jamie Jones has left on a free and Hayden Coulson was sold to Blackpool.
However, there could still be at least two more exits before the transfer window closes.
The arrival of Conway means Josh Coburn is now third-choice striker and given Boro only start one centre-forward per game, he may be moved on.
Millwall are interested in Coburn but it is not yet known if Boro would prefer a loan or permanent sale.
Elsewhere, Middlesbrough are considering loaning out Alex Gilbert in order to give the 22-year-old more senior experience.
He made just 12 league appearances last term and will have to play more regularly if he is to develop further.
Finally, a Carrick decision has opened the door for a Middlesbrough exit before deadline day.
