Middlesbrough are taking a more cautious approach to their 2024 summer transfer business than previous windows.
In past windows, Middlesbrough have signed a plethora of players and struggled to integrate them into the team all at once.
We saw this in 2023/24 when Middlesbrough signed 14 players under Kieran Scott across two windows.
In 2024, however, Michael Carrick and Boro’s Head of Football have taken a more methodical approach.
The Teessiders got the bulk of their business done early in the window; Delano Burgzorg, Aidan Moriss, and Luke Ayling have joined the first-team ranks.
However, further incomings are expected at the Riverside before the transfer window shuts on August 30th.
Here we round up all the latest Middlesbrough transfer news…

Middlesbrough to poach Nathan Kirby
Middlesbrough have already added Graeme Carrick to their backroom coaching staff this summer.
And another name could be taking up a behind-the-scenes role in the next week or so.
Middlesbrough could poach ‘in demand’ video analyst Nathan Kirby from Belgian side Standard Liege.
Kirby is expected to leave the club after their meeting with K.R.C. Genk on July 28th and could join Boro.

Sol Brynn transfer plan
Middlesbrough looked set to go into the 2024/25 Championship season with five senior goalkeepers.
However, Jamie Jones has left for Salford City on a free transfer and Zach Hemming has joined Leyton Orient on loan.
This left question marks over the futures of Tom Glover and Sol Brynn, with only one expected to stay at the club as backup for first-choice Seny Dieng.
Carrick has since revealed future plans for Brynn, confirming he will stay at Middlesbrough for the 2024/25 season.

Michael Carrick drops Middlesbrough transfer hint
As already mentioned, Boro have so far added just three senior players to their ranks this summer.
Boro News reported last week that Middlesbrough were looking at the foreign market to strengthen on the left wing this summer.
Middlesbrough’s striker plans for the remainder of 2024 could see them dip into the loan market for another centre-forward.
And speaking this week, Carrick hinted that Middlesbrough remain on the lookout for further reinforcements.
He said: “I think getting the boys in early, we’re really happy. You’re always on the lookout to see how you can keep improving things but there’s a good feeling at the moment.”

Middlesbrough to rival Sunderland for winger
As mentioned above, Boro News understands Middlesbrough have been looking at the foreign market to sign a left winger.
Now, Middlesbrough are set to rival Sunderland for HJK Helsinki’s Topi Keskinen.
Both North East clubs have been in contact with the player’s camp over a potential move but a deal could prove difficult.
Blackburn Rovers and Aberdeen failed with bids for Keskinen in January and HJK will only accept a significant offer for the winger.
